Michael Tortorich

Where did you go to school?
As a graduate and an undergraduate, I attended DePaul University.

What were your majors/minors?
In college I majored in English with a minor in communications. I then went on to earn an MA in Writing.

Favorite class in college?
An Intensive Intro to Buddhism and Romantic Literature.   These two classes were taught by professors who were tough enough to frighten you into being the best student you could be, and who challenged you to think in ways you had never thought before.

If you weren't working in higher education, what would you be doing?
If I wasn’t working in an environment that centers around advising, I would be working in another field where I would be in a position to help people  – using my experience to make people’s lives easier, removing obstacles to others’ success and happiness.

Three things you would take with you on a deserted island?
A really good book, fine chocolate, and a soul mate!
