We provided a variety of services free-of-charge to the DePaul University community. Any request for our services should be directed through our online Request an Evaluation Form. Our services consist of the following:
Personal On-Site Consultation
We provided onsite consultation for the DePaul University community. If you are feeling discomfort when working, whether or not you think it is related to work, you can schedule a personal consultation. We will consult with you regarding your workstation set-up, your postural habits, and make recommendations for improvement. New employees and those not feeling discomfort also are welcome to request personal consultations.
You will be asked to review the DePaul University Ergonomics site and complete the Online Assessment before requesting an onsite consultation.
Back Safety Training
For jobs that are more physically demanding, especially jobs requiring lifting and materials handling, we can provide back safety training. The training is tailored to suit the needs of a specific group or department and consists of a group presentation as well as consultation for improving the ergonomics of specific job tasks.
We are available to provide ergonomics training or consultation for any campus job. While the majority of consultations are related to computer workstations, we also provided ergonomics consultation for laboratory, maintenance and shop-related positions. Please let us know on the request form if the job is non-computer related.
We can provide department-wide training's in the form of group presentations and group work station consultations. Please mention on the online request if you are interested in receiving group training.
