Appointment Logistics

OAAS has locations in both Lincoln Park and the Loop. In Lincoln Park, we are located in SAC 192. Our hours of operation are 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday. In the Loop, we are located in the DePaul Center, Suite 9500. Our front desk staff can help you determine which advisor best suits your needs.

How do I make an appointment with an OAAS advisor?

It's easy! Just call 773-325-7431 to schedule an appointment. To help the advisor prepare for your visit, we'll need some basic information such as your ID number, what major you’re thinking about and what kind of assistance you need (e.g., help choosing a major, choosing classes, etc.).

How long are appointments?

OAAS appointments are scheduled for 60 minutes.

Which students can meet with an OAAS advisor?

Our advisors will work with all LAS, CSH, and CMN undeclared or exploratory students. Additionally, we will see students from any college who are declared majors but who are exploring alternative or additional academic options.

Does OAAS have walk-in advising?

Yes! During the first week of the term and during registration, OAAS offers walk-in advising on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-in sessions are typically 20 minutes long and address the more immediate concerns you might have. We may offer additional walk-in days as needed. Please call 773-325-7431 for more information on upcoming walk-in dates.

Once I declare my major, can I still meet with an OAAS advisor?

Our advisors work with undeclared and exploratory students only. If you are declared in a major and intend to keep it, you should no longer meet with an OAAS advisor. You will be assigned a major field advisor who will be able to help you. Feel free to call your academic department and ask who your new assigned advisor will be. You can use the DePaul Online Directory to locate your department's phone number.
